Here are the top three stories today in Oklahoma City:

  1. Governor Kevin Stitt has signed a new law in Oklahoma aimed at increasing access to medical biomarker tests for a larger number of residents. Findings indicate that a significant number of oncology providers, 66 percent consider insurance coverage as a substantial or moderate obstacle to appropriate biomarker testing for patients. Improved access to such testing enables doctors to make more informed decisions regarding treatment plans, ensuring patients receive the most effective and necessary interventions while avoiding unnecessary procedures. (KFOR 4)
  2. On Monday, Jun. 5 in northwest Oklahoma, two individuals were arrested after police discovered 36 dogs locked in the back of a U-Haul truck. The overhead door lock had to be cut by the Oklahoma Police Department to enter the vehicle. After successfully entering the vehicle, it was determined the temperature in the cargo area had surpassed 100 degrees. Suspects Dexter and Linda Manuel were both arrested on the scene and booked for 36 animal cruelty complaints. (News 9)
  3. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday to debut a new 121-foot pedestrian bridge over Northwest Expressway near West Wilshire Boulevard. The bridge was designed to represent the city, as well as classic cars from the 1940s, '50s, and '60s. (News 9)
