Here are the top three stories in Oklahoma City today:

  1. Scissortail Park will be home to the fourth annual Father's Day Festival on Sunday, Jun. 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Th event will have various activities for families, including inflatables, games, free face painting, live performances, food trucks, and local vendor booths. Organized by Family Builders and supported by the Oklahoma Blood Institute, the festival aims to raise awareness for family reunification programs and encourage blood donations. Attendees can expect a day filled with fun and the chance to win prizes such as big-screen TVs, grills, and YMCA tickets. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
  2. Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation is facing a shortage of lifeguards as they prepare for the summer season, prompting efforts to hire more staff. The department has implemented marketing campaigns and increased wages to $13-$15 per hour to attract applicants. Lifeguards play a crucial role in ensuring community safety and providing a valuable service, and individuals interested in applying must be at least 16 years old with basic swimming skills. (News On 6)
  3. The Civic Center Music Hall, a historic venue in downtown Oklahoma City, has completed extensive renovations, enhancing the visitor experience. The renovations, funded through the "Better Streets, Safer City" bond package, took over two and a half years to complete and included updates to the lobby, concessions, and the Little Theater. The executive director of the Civic Center Foundation, Elizabeth Gray, expressed optimism that the renovations will attract more patrons and organizations, contributing to a vibrant performing arts community.
