Here are the top three stories today in Oklahoma City:
- After four years of renovations, Oklahoma City’s non-profit Carpenter Square Theatre is back up and running. Board chair, Rick Allen Lippert, has stated the theater is now open and welcoming the community to its new location at 1009 West Reno Avenue. The new space will be open for tours on Saturday, Jun. 24 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Journal Record)
- The Oklahoma City law enforcement arrested over 100 people and took legal custody of over 50 cars due to a street racing operation in Oklahoma City. Police stated that authorities busted an event Sunday, Jun. 11, on private property near I35 and Southeast 89th Street. The majority of the suspects have been charged with vandalism counts, and they are being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. (KOCO 5)
- On Sunday, Jun. 11, around 10:00 p.m., dozens of shots were fired during a large gathering at Oklahoma City Phillips Park, near Northeast 27th Street and Prospect Avenue. Police stated two of the victims were driving near the scene when the shooting took place and ended up with non-life-threatening injuries. You can submit a tip here. (KOCO 5)
