Enes Kanter, Oklahoma City Thunder Player, Held At Romanian Airport
Authorities in Romania found that Kanter's passport had been canceled by his home country of Turkey.

Enes Kanter, the basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, has been released after he said he was detained at an airport in Romania because his passport had been canceled, according to media reports.
In a video posted to Twitter, Kanter said the reason for his detention were his political views. Kanter, a Turkish citizen, supports the Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen and is opposed to Turkish president Recep Tayip Erdogan.

Hadis Fetic, Kanter's executive assistant, told NewsOK that the Turkish government as been known to report citizens’ passports as stolen or missing in order to have them confiscated in foreign countries.
“They can try to create a process where they can extradite you back to Turkey,” Fetic said.
Kanter was on a worldwide tour for the Enes Kanter Foundation.
