Legislation would exempt diapers from sales tax (yukonprogressnews.com) — An Oklahoma City lawmaker is pushing a bill to remove state sales tax from baby diapers, a change that could cut monthly costs for many local families. Rep. Emily Gise’s proposal, backed by bipartisan support, targets inflation-driven price pressures and will be considered when the Oklahoma Legislature reconvenes in February.
   

2. OKC Riversport upgrades make way for 2028 Olympic games (news9.com) — Oklahoma City residents will see more than $1 million in city-backed upgrades at Riversport OKC’s whitewater facility as it prepares for a world championship and the 2028 Olympics. New rapid blocks, beginner zones, and a kayak cross ramp aim to improve both elite training and public recreation, while expanding opportunities for local youth programs and scholarships.
   

3. Andrews Square residents relieved as water restored after days-long outage (koco.com) — Residents at Andrews Square, a senior complex in south Oklahoma City, finally have running water again after more than two days without service caused by a major leak. Oklahoma City Housing Authority crews repaired the problem Sunday, supplied residents with bottled water during the outage, and now plan restoration work to address any water damage and check for mold in the aging public housing building.
   

4. Hobby Lobby founder talks about family, faith and legacy in new book (oklahoman.com) — Oklahoma City readers may be interested that Hobby Lobby founder David Green is sharing how his Oklahoma City-based company’s family-first, faith-driven approach shaped a new book on legacy. In “The Legacy Life,” co-written with Bill High, Green reflects on stewardship, multigenerational faith, and building a business meant to last 150 years rather than chasing short-term gains.
   

5. Joseph Hartzler dies at 75; led prosecution of Oklahoma City bomber (bostonglobe.com) — The lead federal prosecutor in the Oklahoma City bombing case, Joseph Hartzler, has died at 75 after a long legal career that included securing Timothy McVeigh’s conviction. His work brought some measure of justice and closure to families of Oklahoma City victims, even as he continued serving in public roles for decades afterward despite living with multiple sclerosis.
