- Caesars Entertainment will officially be The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma's management partner for their proposed integrated resort that's set to be built off Interstate 44. The resort will live between Tulsa and Oklahoma City; construction will begin with a casino and several dining options, followed by a hotel in the second phase. According to Chairman Perri Ahhaitty, this new development will guarantee that the Iowa Tribe has access to the right economic resources to provide for the health, wellness, safety, and job security of their members. - Michael Peters was re-appointed by Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture, Blayne Arthur, to a five-year term on the Oklahoma Wheat Commission Board. He will focus on representing District III, which includes Beckham, Blaine, Canadian, Custer, Dewey, Kingfisher, Roger Mills, and Washita counties. Peters' responsibilities entail working with other members of the board to develop and oversee the implementation of policy and programs, approve budget expenditures, direct the funding of research, market development and public education, and promote Oklahoma wheat. - On Thursday, May 11, hazmat crews responded to a lethal chemical spill at an Oklahoma City business near South Sunnylane and I-240. According to officials from the Oklahoma City Fire Department, there are two different chemicals used to make plastic containers and they were incorrectly mixed causing the spill. All operations are expected to continue as normal, but employees were removed from the area while the spill was being cleaned. (News 9)

- The Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is officially re-opening its doors this weekend. The shelter has been closed for a little over a month and a half due to a contagious upper respiratory inflection that went through the shelter, taking the lives of five dogs while infecting hundreds of others. There are now 250 healthy dogs and 10 cats available for adoption, so stop by for your chance to meet a potential new furry friend. (OKC Animal Welfare)
- On Wednesday, May 10, Mayor David Holt was officially named Dean of the Oklahoma City University School of Law. Holt is a graduate of OCU's School of Law and faculty members share that they believe he'll be able to lead the law school into their next era. He will begin his duties as the Dean starting on Saturday, Jul. 1. (Oklahoma City University School of Law)
