Pet of the Week: Bear (news9.com) — Oklahoma City pet lovers can meet Bear, a three‑month‑old, 21‑pound cuddlebug available for adoption at the Oklahoma Humane Society Adoption Center on North Western Avenue. The organization also runs weekday spay and neuter clinics and offers walk‑in services for feral and community cats, helping reduce unwanted litters across the city.
   

2. The biggest OKC developments of 2025, and what to watch for in 2026 (news9.com) — Major changes are coming to Oklahoma City, from a new downtown Thunder arena replacing the old Myriad to preparations for hosting multiple 2028 Olympic events and the 2026 Canoe Slalom World Championships. City leaders also advanced plans for a new Oklahoma County jail and reviewed the ambitious Legends Tower proposal, all while celebrating a Thunder championship parade that drew record crowds downtown.
   

3. Families ‘shop' for toys at City Rescue Mission (kfor.com) — Families staying at Oklahoma City’s City Rescue Mission can now “shop” the Toy Workshop, choosing multiple donated gifts so their children have presents to open on Christmas morning. The mission, which expects to serve about 100 families, also invites formerly housed families back to pick out toys, relying on community donations of games, books, and more.

PRESS RELEASE: Updated CDC data shows Oklahoma making promising progress in obesity rates (freepressokc.com) — State health officials in Oklahoma City report that both adult and childhood obesity rates have dropped notably across Oklahoma, marking the first sustained decline since tracking began in 1988. The Oklahoma State Department of Health credits community partnerships, better access to healthy food and activity, and support for local and city-county health departments, including Oklahoma City’s, for driving this encouraging trend.
   

5. Oklahoma Lottery Mega Millions, Pick 3 results for Dec. 19, 2025 (oklahoman.com) — Oklahoma Lottery players can now check the Dec. 19 Mega Millions, Pick 3, Lucky for Life, and Cash 5 winning numbers, and submit winning tickets by mail to the Oklahoma Lottery office in Oklahoma City. Remember to sign your ticket, include a completed claim form, and add banking details if you want direct deposit for your prize.
