Here are the top three stories today in Oklahoma City:
- Northeast Oklahoma City is looking to get a new breakfast spot early next month as Scrambl'd will have its grand opening on Jul. 2 starting at 8:00 a.m. Owner Cordell Love talked about the effort and dedication it has taken to get to this point and he continues to look forward to sharing east-side cooking with the community. For a long time, the northeast side of Oklahoma City was neglected and seen as a food desert but now restaurants and grocery stores are beginning to come in and really change the identity of that side of the city. - Over the weekend, a fire broke out at the Ambassador Courts Apartments that required one person to be hospitalized due to difficulty breathing. Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to the single-story apartment late Friday afternoon and they arrived at the scene to see flames visibly coming out the side of the apartment. Firefighters were able to quickly work on the scene making evacuations and clearing the fire in the first hour. Although the cause of the fire is currently unknown, it is under investigation. - Daniel Dingle was arrested this past Thursday after leading officers on a short pursuit that ended in him crashing into an Oklahoma City home before attempting to flee on foot. Deputies were originally tracking someone with outstanding warrants before Dingle was noticed speeding off at the sight of the police cruisers, the chase occurred near Churchill Way and Village Drive. Before the pursuit, Dingle had several warrants including one for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, he is currently being held in the Oklahoma City Detention Center.
