Here are the top three stories in Oklahoma City today:
- Oklahoma City police are investigating after a man living near North Sara Road woke up to find a swastika cut into their front lawn. Stan Sells, the homeowner, filed a report with the police, who told him the incident was a hate crime. Sells suspects that the swastika in his yard was created by adults due to the design's precision. (KOCO)
- A family in the Oklahoma City metro area stands to lose thousands of dollars after unknowingly hiring a contractor with a suspended license. Proco Unlimited LLC, owned by Davin Alexander, was hired by the Coburn family to complete a $46,000 project on their home. Tara Coburn has since filed a complaint with the state attorney general after she saw no progress being made in her home. Alexander has been sued by multiple former clients who allege that the contractor owes them thousands of dollars. (News 9)
- A 14-year-old has been arrested following a stabbing incident at a Walgreens near Southeast 44th Street and South Shields Boulevard. Police responded to the incident and spoke with witnesses who described a chaotic scene that began when the victim, Kendrick Jones, asked a group of juveniles on a sidewalk to restrain their dog. Jones and the group began yelling at each other, and the situation escalated to the juveniles throwing rocks at Jones, who was holding a pocket knife. The group chased Jones, and one witness claims to have seen Jones on the ground after being hit in the head with a rock. The 14-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
