- The Yukon Police Department announced they are experiencing issues with their 9-1-1 system. The department warned that some people calling the emergency line may not get through due to the technical issues. Authorities advise that anyone who has an emergency and cannot reach the police department should call the non-emergency line at (405) 354-2553.(news9.com KWTV)
- Authorities are investigating the death of a detainee at the Oklahoma County Detention Center this weekend. Officials report that the detainee, 40-year-old Gabriel Yalartai, was discovered attempting suicide in his cell early Sunday morning. Staff and medical personnel began life-saving efforts after discovering Yalartai but were unable to save the man's life. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.(news9.com KWTV)
- Former Norman Public Schools teacher Alex Ruggiers is running for a seat on the Board of Education. Ruggiers recently moved from the district to a position as a curriculum developer at the University of Oklahoma’s Center for Public Management but says his desire to serve his former colleagues and students is still strong. Ruggiers will face incumbent Dan Snell and candidate Chemise Stancle in the upcoming race. (Norman Transcript)
