The Best Hotels In Oregon, According To U.S. News & World Report

Need a break from the day-to-day grind and just want to be treated like royalty for the night? You're in luck. U.S. News & World Report has released its rankings of the best hotels across the country and within Oregon.
The report looked at more than 24,000 luxury hotels to come up with the rankings. Hotels that received a gold badge were in the top 10 percent of ranked hotels.
Hawaii’s Four Seasons Resort Lanai ranked first, followed by The Peninsula Chicago at No. 2 and The Langham, Chicago at No. 3.

If those don't fit your fancy, don't fret: There are plenty of great hotels in Oregon, too, including The Nines in Portland. In fact, of the top 10 hotels in Oregon, six are in the Rose City.
Here are the best luxury hotels in the Beaver State — and their accompanying U.S. News reviews — for those looking to get away for a night (or two):

1. The Allison Inn & Spa — 2525 Allison Ln. | Newberg
About 25 miles southwest of downtown Portland, The Allison Inn & Spa offers the perfect retreat from urban life: The property hosts acres of lush gardens and vineyards ready to be explored. But recent guests find the indoor resources even more rejuvenating.
JORY, the on-site gourmet restaurant, serves up delicacies paired with exotic and local vintage wines. And the spa pampers visitors with a variety of treatments, such as the Divine Wine Facial, Calming Botanical Bath and Shea Butter Massage. The guest rooms impress even the pickiest traveler, with complimentary Wi-Fi access, Bose sound systems, gas fireplaces, personal terraces and flat-screen TVs.
2. Stephanie Inn — 2740 S. Pacific St. | Cannon Beach
Sitting along Cannon Beach in northern Oregon, the Stephanie Inn convinces many visitors that it is one of the state's best seaside hotels. Recent guests praise the views of the Pacific Ocean and Haystack Rock as well as the customer service. And the chefs at the inn's Dining Room are no exception, serving up seasonal, locally inspired dishes that wow diners.
Rooms have either a mountain or an ocean view, and some have fireplaces, to the delight of visitors. You'll also find Tempur-Pedic beds and wet bars in your digs. The warm colors used to decorate the luxury hotel exemplify its homey character.
3. The Nines, A Luxury Collection Hotel — 525 S.W. Morrison St. | Portland
The 331 rooms at The Nines – which rests in the top floors of downtown Portland's Meier & Frank Building – are five-star material, from their regal-looking decor and turndown service to the rainfall showers, flat-screen TVs, 350-thread-count linens and Gilchrist & Soames bath products.
Guests also love the drinks and meals served at the on-site steakhouse, Urban Farmer, as well as the Departure restaurant and lounge's Asian cuisine. It should come as no surprise that the Nines is part of The Luxury Collection, and members of both the Starwood and Marriott rewards programs can earn and redeem points here.
4. Dossier — 750 S.W. Alder St. | Portland
The downtown, Dossier hotel is a good choice for visitors hoping to tour Portland by foot or by public transportation, since it's located right near Pioneer Square and the MAX light rail. Aside from the location, many guests rave about the hotel staff and the comfortable rooms (even if they are a bit on the small side).
Rooms boast city views, Provenance Signatures and plush bedding. And because this hotel is pet-friendly, your furry friend can tag along. Indulge in on-site extras like The Omerta restaurant, the fitness center and even the kids amenities.
5. The Heathman Hotel — 1001 S.W. Broadway | Portland
Although the Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland does have some shortcomings (like expensive parking), guests willingly submit to its overall elegant atmosphere and excellent service staff. The hotel's stellar ambiance includes a 2,700-volume library, coffee served in French presses and the Headwaters Restaurant, which serves up delicious regional food.
Guests gush about the tasteful furnishings in the lobby, though some say that the beds in the guest rooms tend to dominate the small-ish accommodations. Aside from the beds, you'll find your accommodations equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, HD TVs as well as in-room coffee makers.
6. Sentinel — 614 S.W. 11th Ave. | Portland
This boutique hotel in downtown Portland first opened its doors in 1909, and reopened in the spring of 2014 after a major facelift that restored the lobby, guest rooms and meeting spaces to their former glory. Guests can still get modern amenities though, like internet access, 24-hour room service and iPod docking stations.
Other amenities include a 24-hour business center, a fitness center and an on-site Starbucks. Recent guests appreciated the hotel's proximity to the famous Powell's Books, and other popular Portland spots, but it's the customer service that leaves its mark. Recent visitors say the staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable and well taken care of.
Lodgers also enjoyed the on-site restaurant, Jake's Grill, that serves up steak, seafood, and the lobby bar, Jackknife is popular among hotel guests and local residents alike.
7. Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland — 506 S.W. Washington St. | Portland
This Kimpton brand property in downtown Portland gets high praise for its complimentary wine reception and its terrific restaurant, Red Star Tavern. The decor is vibrant, and the in-room amenities, from luxury bath products to animal print robes to flat-screen TVs, were top-notch, according to recent guests.
Duck out of your digs to spend time at the 24-hour business center, the on-site fitness center or navigate Portland on your complimentary bicycle. You can bring your pooch for a stay at this hotel (and pamper him with free pet-friendly amenities).
8. The Oxford Hotel — 10 N.W. Minnesota Ave. | Bend
The Oxford Hotel brings some big-city luxury to the small town of Bend near the Willamette National Forest in central Oregon. The decor strikes travelers as surprisingly modern for such a small town. They also rave about the incredibly large rooms, complete with spacious bathrooms and plenty of in-room amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi, pillow-top mattresses, plasma TVs, Bose sound systems and 400-thread-count sheets.
When it's time for a meal, guests can head to the hotel's 10below Restaurant & Lounge, which serves "urban-organic" cuisine from its menu of locally sourced food. Recent visitors also applaud the pleasant staff, bath butler service and pet-friendly policy.
9. Tu Tu' Tun Lodge — 96550 North Bank Rogue River Rd. | Gold Beach
Standing on the banks of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon, the Tu Tu' Tun Lodge offers a comfortable, out-of-the-way stay. Guests adore their cozy river-view rooms. Many also praise the staff's attention to detail, from remembering guests by name to selecting beautiful garden bouquets for the lobby.
The concierge can arrange golfing, hiking or boating outings in the surrounding area. While recent guests enjoyed the cuisine in the lodge's dining room, some noted that they didn't enjoy the communal, family-style arrangement.
However, you should note that this is a seasonal destination with both limited dining service and activities in the winter and spring.
10. Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland — 422 S.W. Broadway | Portland
Wine lovers insist that the Hotel Vintage is the best place to stay in Portland. In addition to in-room spa services and specialized pets and kiddie programs, this downtown Kimpton brand also boasts complimentary wine receptions and Wine Wednesdays, when local vineyard owners come to showcase their boutique blends.
Guests also rave about this hotel's friendly and accommodating service. The digs are noteworthy, too, with flat-screen TVs, animal print robes and luxury bath products. Perks grow for members of the Kimpton Karma rewards program; members can take advantage of extras like complimentary in-room Wi-Fi access and credit toward free nights.
If you're looking out-of-state, California and New York had the most gold badge winners with 38 and 26 gold badge hotels, respectively. There were also 24 in Florida.
Among cities, New York City ranked highest in the number of gold badge hotels with 24 — more than double that of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, which tied for second with 11.
Washington, D.C. and Chicago had 1o and eight gold badge hotels, respectively.
