Cattle Truck Flips On I-84 In Eastern Oregon: Police
Truck driver Shannon Dwinell died in the crash, along with several cows, police said. Other cows escaped and began wandering the freeway.
NORTH POWDER, OR — A semi-truck transporting cattle on Interstate-84 Tuesday crashed into a guardrail and flipped, killing the truck driver and several cows, according to Oregon State Police.
Shannon Dwinell, 46, of Great Bend, Kansas, was traveling west on I-84 when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the highway, hit the guardrail and overturned, OSP officials said in a statement.
The crash reportedly occurred about two miles west of North Powder, near milepost 284, in the southernmost part of Union County.

Dwinell and five of the 28 cows he was transporting were killed in the crash.
Several cows reportedly survived but then got loose on the interstate.
