The investigation revealed Felix was traveling south on Northwest Jetty Street, parallel to the beach, when he blew through the stop sign at the intersection of Northwest 21st Street. Moving "at a high rate of speed," police said, Felix slammed through a metal roadside guardrail and white picket fence before hitting the house, damaging both it and his truck extensively.

Two people were home at the time of the crash, though neither was injured. Both, however, "were understandably upset and shaken from the incident," police said.
Felix reportedly remained at the scene of the crash until police arrived. It's unclear whether that was by choice or because he was stuck in the truck and had no other option. In any event, following his arrest, Felix submit to a breathalyzer test that found he was two times over the legal limit.
Officers first took Felix to a Newport hospital to get checked out before taking him to Lincoln County Jail.
