Family Moving To Oregon Loses Everything When U-Haul Is Stolen
A family moving from Arizona lost everything when the U-Hail and trailer carrying their possessions was stolen in Troutdale.

TROUTDALE, OR — While it's not wrong to think that all U-Haul trucks and trailers look alike, they are not all identical. The truck and trailer in the picture, for instance.
The truck is 20-feet long like others. Unlike others t has a unique image of a hawk along with a map of Tongass National Park. It has "ALASKA" printed on the side. It has an Arizona license plate – AJ29091.
The trailer has an Indiana plate – TR-916KMS.

The reason that all this is important s because the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says that the two were parked across from a hotel room on the 1000 block of NW Graham Road in Troutdale.
The two were being driven by a couple from Arizona who were headed to Portland to start a new life.

The couple told deputies that their "entire life" was in the truck and trailer, that the theft was a "devastating loss."
Among the items stolen were the practical such as furniture and clothes as well as the sentimental such as a personal artwork, a handmade wool-braided rug, and family photos.
The couple had parked and gone into their room to get some sleep. Around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, they woke up and discovered that the truck and trailer were gone.
Deputies reviewed surveillance video from the hotel.
They saw a silver SUV enter the parking lot around 11 p.m. A man gets out, breaks into the U-Haul, and drives away. the silver SUV follows behind.
The sheriff's office asks that anyone who has information about this crime, who may have witnessed the theft or locates the stolen truck and/or trailer is urged to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333, and refer to Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office report number: 22-8219. If the truck is occupied, call 911.
