Oregon State Beavers Powered By 3 Home Runs In Win, Host Auburn Next

CORVALLIS, OR — It was win and stay home for the Oregon State Beavers on Monday when they beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 7-6 in the last game of the NCAA College World Series regional in Corvallis. The next step for the Beavers? The Super Regional with the Beans' hoating the Auburn Tigers for a best of three starting Friday

For the Beavers (47-16), the number three team in the country, it gave them the opportunity to stay at home at least a little longer.

Oregon State was powered by home runs from Matthew Greeter, Jacob Melton and Justin Boyd and crucial pitching from ace Cooper Hjerpe who struck out five in two innings of relief to clinch the victory.

Hjerpe started the Beavers' game Friday night.

Auburn (40-19) clinched their spot in the Super Regional by defeating UCLA 11-4 Monday at Auburn.
