Teen Plots To Kill Parents, Set House On Fire: Sheriff

Two teens, 14 and 13, were arrested after police learned of a plot to give the older boy's parents sleeping pills and set the house on fire.

CORVALLIS, OR — Two Albany teens, 14 and 13, are being held in the Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center after police obtained evidence of a plot to kill the older boy's parents and set his house on fire. Last week, the boy's father called the Benton County Sheriff's Office to report his son's apparent plan, officials said.

Neither boy has been identified due to their ages, however both are charged with attempted aggravated murder. Additionally, the 14-year-old is charged with attempted arson.

The older boy was arrested Saturday, Oct. 27, two days after his father contacted the sheriff's office because he'd received information indicating his son planned to drug both he and his wife with sleeping pills and then burn down their house with them still inside. The 13-year-old was arrested on Monday after he reportedly admitted to providing his friend with the sleeping pills.
