Truck Driver Killed In Fiery Crash On I-84 Early Wednesday

Oregon State Police say truck driver Leo Stratton appears to have drifted off the road and crashed.

MOSIER, OR — A commercial motor vehicle operator was killed in a crash on Interstate-84 early Wednesday, according to Oregon State Police. Late Wednesday, police identified the truck driver as 50-year-old Portland resident Leo Stratton.

State troopers were reportedly dispatched just before 2 a.m. Sept. 12 after learning a semi had crashed near milepost 74, just east of Mosier and Memaloose State Park.

Investigators reportedly believe the semi was traveling east in the slow lane when it drifted off the road and collided with a rocky embankment. Following the crash, the CMV caught fire.
