Severe weather shelters are activated when weather conditions create an immediate danger for people living outside. The shelters operate on a "no-turn-away" basis and pets are accepted. Hot meals are provided.

Neighbors may help someone obtain transportation to a shelter location by calling 503-846-4722. To request a welfare check in Washington County, the public may call the police non-emergency number at 503-629-0111. If someone’s life appears to be in danger, call 9-1-1.
