5 Free Events in Gresham This Week

GRESHAM, OR - Gresham has plenty of events to take part in during the month of October. From basketball to woodworking and more, this city has events scheduled throughout the month that are fun for both the young and the young-at-heart.

• Friday Night Basketball - a free skill training night for boys and girls interested in shooting some hoops.
  • When: October 28th; 6-8 p.m. (grades 6-8) and 8-10 p.m. (grades 9-12)
  • Where: H.B Lee Middle School, 1121 NE 172 Ave. To attend, simply complete the registration form ahead of time.
• Gresham Farmers Market - October is the last month to pick up local produce at this historical site. There's also live music, so you can bring the whole family on this grocery run.
  • When: every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the Farmers Market is drawing to a close.
  • Where: downtown Gresham at NW 3rd Street and NW Miller Avenue.
• Sunday Afternoon Futsal - A great way to make new friends and increase your Futsal skills, this Sunday afternoon activity is for kids in grades 3 - 6 and the games are 5 on 5.
  • When: Sunday, October 30 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: Friends of the Children gym, 424 NE 172 Ave
• Naturescaping Basics Workshop - Learn how to make your backyard or garden an environmentally safe place for kids and pets, without breaking the bank. The workshop includes a free tour of the nearby community garden. If you're interested in attending, you need register in advance.
  • When: Saturday, October 29 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: Mt. Hood Community College, 26000 SE Stark Street
• GREAT Business Coffee Hour - If you're curious about how to make your business more sustainable, this coffee hour is for you. It takes place monthly and rotates between different sustainable workplaces.
  • When: Wednesday, October 26 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
  • Where: Pediatric Therapy Services, 304 NE Hood Avenue.
