Gresham Bank Robbery Ends In Death Of Suspect, Police Involved
Gresham Police and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office responded to a bank robbery Tuesday evening. The suspect was killed.
GRESHAM, OR — A suspect bank robber is dead after leading police on a chase in Gresham Tuesday evening. The suspect was shot by officers who were returning fire, according to police.
The incident started early Tuesday evening when police got a report that someone with a gun was robbing a bank in the area of Northwest Civic Drive and 13th Street.
Around 30 units from the Gresham Police Department and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene.

The person believed to be the robber fled and was followed by police who tried to stop the getaway car. Police say that as the chase developed, the man fleeing officers started shooting at them.
Police say the suspect fired "a number of times."

The officers returned fire.
At least one bullet struck the driver, killing him.
No one else was injured.
Police say streets in the area will be closed for a while as they investigate.
The names of the officer or officers involved have not been released. Neither was the name of the person who was killed.
