Gresham Mayor Will Give State Of The City Address March 15
Mayor Shane Bemis plans to discuss homelessness, public safety, and emergency services when he shares the city's goals for 2018.

GRESHAM, OR β Public safety and emergency services, city parks and homelessness, and neighborhood infrastructure are topics Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis plans to discuss during his annual State of the City address next Thursday.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m. March 15, Bemis will host city councilors and staff, local leaders from the community, business owners, and residents for a lunchtime gathering at the Gresham Armory, 544 N.E. Division St.
"The State of the City is a unique moment when the community comes together to collectively celebrate our achievements over the past year, as well as to reflect on how we can seize opportunities and grow into an even better city in the years to come," Bemis said in a statement.

The Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce will make plated lunches available for purchase, though city officials advise reserving your lunch by March 8 β should you want one. Complimentary refreshments will also be available.
"The Chamber is honored to co-host this important event with our valued partner, the City of Gresham," said Chamber board president Stayce Blume. "It is wonderful to gather together with people who care about Gresham...neighbors, business leaders, nonprofits, volunteers, and City staff. We look forward to hearing the powerful vision the Mayor will provide for the community that we all love."

The State of the City address will also be live-streamed on the city's Facebook page, and a transcript of Bemis' speech will be posted to the city's website afterward.
