• Gresham's annual Cultural Events Grants has $27,000 available (theoutlookonline.com) — Gresham is opening applications Jan. 5 for its 2025-26 Cultural Events Grants, offering more than $27,000 to support local arts, festivals, and community celebrations within city limits. Nonprofits and sponsored individuals can apply for up to $8,100 per project before the Feb. 6 deadline, with funds to be used by June 30, 2026.
   

• DA: Gresham officers justified in shooting Bodhi Phelps (koin.com) — A Multnomah County grand jury has ruled that Gresham police officers were legally justified in the 2016 shooting of Bodhi Phelps after a reported assault and armed confrontation in Gresham. Officials released a detailed timeline and autopsy findings to counter online claims and protests that alleged he was shot in the back without warning.
