HILLSBORO, OR — Thirty-six people across the metro region were arrested and charged with crimes related to prostitution this week when multiple law enforcement agencies partnered for a cooperative mission against human trafficking.

Police departments in Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Vancouver, Washington, and Portland joined forces with Oregon State Police and the Clackamas and Washington county sheriff's offices to conduct missions at four different hotels in the greater Portland metro area.

During the mission on Wednesday, June 6, undercover investigators from seven separate agencies coordinated online with people looking for sex in exchange for money. When the suspects would arrive at the agreed upon meeting location, they were met by law enforcement officials who confirmed the suspects' intent.

Subsequently, the individuals were then arrested.

Each agency maintains a different policy with regard to identifying the suspects arrested.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office — which worked its mission alongside Oregon State troopers — only noted four arrests, without any additional detail.

The Portland Police Bureau mission reportedly nabbed 13 individuals, one of whom — 66-year-old David Grandy — was arrested for commercial sexual solicitation and taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Grandy was reportedly cited two weeks ago for the same thing.

Additionally, PPB officers cited and released 12 women for prostitution; the women were also offered resources for assistance, which many reportedly accepted.

In Vancouver, VPD officers cited four men — aged 18, 22, 42, and 54 — for patronizing a prostitute. One of the men was also arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

In Washington County, WCSO deputies worked alongside the Hillsboro and Lake Oswego police departments to arrest 16 men for commercial sexual solicitation (any additional charges are noted below):
