The Hillsboro Arts and Culture Council (HACC) focuses on creating sustainable growth within the arts community. Housed within the parks & recreation department, its objectives are to promote life-long cultural learning and to integrate arts and culture into Hillsboro's civic governing practices. They have a packed calendar for the first week in October.
1) Beginners Folklorico Dance Class
Taught by Meria Ferrin from the Northwest Conservatory of Dance, this class is free for kids ages 7 a.m. -11 p.m.

2) Gummy Bear Art at Clark's for Art Walk
In a light-hearted look back at childhood, this exhibit was inspired by candy and toys, and blends fun with creativity in a sweet and seamless sensory experience.
When: Tuesday, October 4. 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Clark’s Bistro; 246 East Main street
The award-winning Pixar film will screen at the Hillsboro Public Library. All ages are welcome.

Influence Music Hall welcomes people of all ages and skill levels to bust out their best tune. For the young and young-at-heart, seasoned pros or amateurs, Open-Mic Friday is an eclectic way to end the week.

Puzzles, mazes, arts and crafts and award-winning magician Jay Frasier. Spend time with your family and explore the different exhibits that Washington County Museum has to offer.
"Jay combines sleight-of-hand, physical comedy and audience participation to create uniquely magical and entertaining performances. Young and old alike will experience the impossible made possible, reinforcing their senses of wonder and engaging their imaginations," Beth Dehn, Washington County Museum.
