HILLSBORO, OR - The Hillsboro City Council tackles important issues each week, and you can be part of the decision making process. Half the battle is making your voice heard. Check out the different ways you can work with the City Council.

  • Write to City Council. You can choose to address "Hillsboro City Council Members" as a whole, entire unit or you can select an individual council member, ideally one who works with an issue that is important to you. Direct the email to council@hillsboro-oregon.gov. Remember to be professional and state the purpose of your letter directly. Include facts and figures to support your argument and build your case. Lastly, be sure to explain why this issue matters to you-include an anecdote or some brief backstory about yourself if it is relevant.
  • Attend a City Council Meeting. These are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center Shirley Huffman Auditorium located on 150 E. Main Street. If you're feeling bold and choose to speak at the meeting, you can sign up to share your thoughts during either the Public Comment or Public Hearings portions of the meeting. Public Comment takes place at the end of each meeting and is reserved for comments that do not pertain to the agenda of the meeting.
