BUXTON, OR — A neighbor helped save three pet dogs from a fire that almost completely destroyed a home in Buxton early Sunday evening, according to authorities with Banks Fire District 13. One firefighter needed medical attention.
Firefighters from Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Gaston, Cornelius, Banks, and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the three-alarm fire in the 22000-block of Northwest Hannan Street just after 4:45 p.m. June 24.
The two adults who live in the home were not present when the fire began, officials said. The residents' three dogs were reportedly let out by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home.
