Hillsboro Asks Voters To Approve Measure To Fund Police, Fire, Parks
Measure 34-311 would continue a levy first passed 1998 that helps fund the police, fire and parks departments in the city.

HILLSBORO, OR — There's a measure on the ballot for Hillsboro voters that the city very much wants residents to approve. It's pubic safety issue, according to officials.
Measure 34-311 provides the bulk of the funding for the police, fire and parks departments by imposing what's called a "local option levy tax" on everyone who pays property tax in Hillsboro. The current measure adds a levy of $1.72 of every $1,000 of assessed value to people's bills.
That rate, which was first approved in 2017, would be continued under the new measure.
