Pedestrian Killed By Car On SE Century Boulevard Thursday Morning

Elana Rocha-DeLeos, 62, was walking to work when she was struck while crossing the road at the intersection of SE Century and SE Johnson St.

HILLSBORO, OR — A 62-year-old woman was killed in Hillsboro Thursday morning when she was struck by a car while walking to work.

Police said Elana Rocha-DeLeos was walking south on the Eastside of Southeast Century Boulevard just before 7 a.m. March 15. When she went to cross Southeast Johnson Street at the intersection, Rocha-DeLeos was struck by a car turning left from Century.

Another person in the area gave Rocha-DeLeos CPR until paramedics from the Hillsboro Fire Department arrived, police said, but Rocha-DeLeos did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver who struck Rocha-DeLeos remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the subsequent investigation.

No arrests have been made or citations issued at this time.
