Washington County Commission Bans Flavored Tobacco, Vape Products

Washington County became the first in Oregon to ban flavored vape and tobacco products.

HILLSBORO, OR — The Washington County Board of Commissioners banned the sale of flavored vape and tobacco products. The 3-2 vote at their meeting on Tuesday made Washington County the first county in Oregon to take that action.

The action also bans the sale of tobacco and synthetic tobacco products to anyone under 21-years-old and prohibits stores from offering discounts on tobacco products.

Enforcement of the ban doesn't begin until Jan. 1, 2022.

While no other county has a ban on an agenda yet, officials say they expect more to follow suit in the coming months..
