• Chehalem Parks and Rec Dissolves Pickleball Citizens Advisory Committee (newsberg.org) — Chehalem Park and Recreation District in Newberg has officially dissolved its Pickleball Citizens Advisory Committee, shifting the group into a more flexible volunteer focus group that works directly with staff. The change comes after the committee helped guide new pickleball courts at Jaquith Park, and members say they’ll keep supporting fundraising and future improvements for local players.
   

• Fire heavily damages Newberg home Tuesday (newberggraphic.com) — Fire crews from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and nearby departments battled a late-morning blaze that heavily damaged a home on South School Street in Newberg, but found no one inside and reported no injuries. Firefighters had to adapt their tactics because of heavy smoke, cluttered upper floors, and hard-to-reach attic hot spots, and investigators are now working to determine what sparked the fire.
