4% Tax Hike Approved In Final Abington School Budget
The Abington School Board recently approved the final 2025-2026 school budget.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington School Board has approved a 4 percent tax increase for residents in its school budget for next year.
At its June 24 meeting, the school board adopted the final $202,851,663 2025-2026 school budget.
The school board approved a tax increase that met the highest amount provided under the state's Act 1 index, set at 4 percent this year, with a tax rate of 38.55 mills, school officials said.

A homeowner with the average assessment of $141,130 will pay $208.87 more in school taxes next year, or $169.87 after the homestead property tax relief.
The June 24 orientation also included information regarding the Senior Citizen Tax Rebate Program, school officials said.

After the refund, homeowners over age 65 who qualify for the rebate based on annual income would experience no more than a $17.87 increase for the year, while many would have no tax increase.
