ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington Senior High School Class of 2025 Commencement Ceremony was held on Wednesday at Schwarzman Stadium, where 650 seniors walked across the stage to officially become alumni.

One diploma was awarded posthumously, school officials said.

The graduates amassed more than $9.5 million in scholarships, with 79 percent of the Class pursuing higher education, 2 percent joining the military, and 19 percent going into employment or apprenticeships, school officials said.

MaKaela Booker opened the ceremony with the National Anthem, and Valedictorian Maeve Hong and Salutatorian Anneka Anderson were the first to speak.

This year's elected class speakers were Jessica Chacko and Maxwell Hayes. Abington Senior High School Principal Alice Swift also provided remarks, as did Abington School District Superintendent Jeffrey Fecher and Board President Melissa Mowry.
