Abington Man Gets 100 Candles

He was honored at last week's Abington Board of Commissioners meeting

The Abington Board of Commissioners presented a Certificate of Commendation to longtime Abington resident Hanley Rubinsohn to honor his upcoming 100th birthday.

Abington Commissioner Matthew Willis and tax collector Jay Blumenthal presented the award to Rubinsohn; Blumenthal said it was special to him because his father knew Rubinsohn. Also, Blumenthal’s father would have turned 100 this month as well.

Rubinsohn is a native of West Philadelphia and a Central High School Graduate, Class of 1931. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania and University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
