Abington Man Spits in Face of Motorist, Drives Into Him, Police Say
The man 'drove directly into the victim's body' following an incident on Old York Road, according to police.

Abington Police arrested a man from the Jenkintown section of the township late last month after he allegedly spit into the face of a motorist … and then ran into the victim with his SUV while the victim was calling 911.
George W. Kyle, 67, of the 700 block of Arden Drive, was arrested Aug. 29 at about 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of Old York Road after the alleged incident.
According to police, two lanes of southbound traffic were stopped at a red light in the 1100 block of Old York Road when Kyle exited his SUV, walked up to the driver’s side window of the vehicle in front of his, and spit in the driver’s face. The victim then got out of his vehicle and took a photograph of Kyle’s license plate.
Two other men then exited their respective vehicles and walked toward Kyle’s vehicle — they made eye contact with a police officer and pointed at Kyle.
The victim then walked between his vehicle and Kyle’s vehicle and started making a phone call — the call was later revealed to be a 911 call, police said. Kyle then put his SUV into gear and drove directly into the victim’s body and began pushing him with the vehicle, police said. Kyle then stopped, and drove into the victim again.
According to police, an Abington Police officer yelled at Kyle to stop; Kyle then looked at the police officer and ran into the victim again, pushing him into a different traffic lane.
Kyle then attempted to drive away, but was stopped in the same block.
Kyle, who does not appear to have a criminal history, was charged with recklessly endangering another person; simple assault; and disorderly conduct. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in front of District Justice Juanita Price.
