Possession of an instrument of crime, prohibited offensive weapon and drug possession … Michael Lare, 26, last known address of Danforth Street, Philadelphia, was arrested April 26 at 7:24 p.m. in the 300 block of Shady Lane following a call for a possibly armed man living out of a blue Ford Taurus, police said. According to police, when Lare was asked about having a firearm, he said he did not have one, and gave permission to search his vehicle. In the car, police found 46 assorted loose pills, a switchblade, and several other edged weapons. Police also found at least five small Ziploc bags commonly used to package drugs, three pipes and several straws commonly used to snort drugs. Lare is homeless, police said.

DUI and open container … Nirav Patel, 21, of Woodward Street, Philadelphia, was arrested April 25 at 1:53 a.m. following a traffic stop for having tinted windows and for having a malfunctioning headlight while driving southbound on Old York Road near Horace Avenue, police said. According to police, there was a six-pack of Twisted Tea on the floor behind the passenger seat and a large bottle of beer in a plastic bag. Patel said he drank two Twisted Teas and some of the beer. Patel mumbled with his mouth closed while speaking, failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.108 percent, police said.

DUI and reckless driving … Matthew J. Cassidy, 24, of Woodlyn Avenue, Glenside, was arrested March 16 at 2:22 a.m. in the 2000 block of Wharton Road after he struck a parked car while driving a Chevrolet Prizm. According to police, Cassidy said, “I had too much to drink and should not have been driving.” Cassidy also said that he had six or more whiskey sours. Cassidy had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and his blood alcohol content was 0.145 percent.

He also threw up during the field sobriety test, police said.

DUI and driving with a suspended license … Martin S. McCorriston, 44, of School House Road, Telford, was arrested March 5 at 7:36 p.m. following a traffic stop for driving too closely and for crossing the double yellow line on FItzwatertown Road as he was driving to pick up his girlfriend at the Roslyn Wawa, police said. According to police, McCorriston had glassy and bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and was confused while answering questions. No field sobriety tests were given to McCorriston because of his behavior and deceitfulness, police said. McCorriston’s blood tested positive for the presence of Oxycodone; he was in possession of a small plastic straw that he admitted to using to snort Oxycodone. McCorriston’s license was also suspended.

Forgery, access device fraud and theft … An arrest warrant was issued Feb. 27 for Janice Perkins, 19, of Mechanic Street, Philadelphia, after she used a co-worker’s TD Bank Visa card to make an unauthorized purchase of $186, including a $100 gift card, at Lane Bryant in Willow Grove Park mall, their place of employment, in January, police said. According to police, a check of the cash register records and store cameras show Perkins making the fraudulent purchase. Perkins told Lane Bryant regional security that she had used other customers’ Lane Bryant accounts to ring up $853 worth of fraudulent purchases. Perkins later came to Abington Police Department and gave a detailed written confession, police said.

DUI and careless driving …  Claudia Hill, 26, of Cedar Road, Elkins Park, was arrested Feb. 11 at 1:35 a.m. in the corner of Township Line and Fisher roads after she crashed into a tree after losing control of her blue Scion xB while driving eastbound on Township Line Road, police said. According to police, Hill also struck a street sign; her vehicle came to rest in the 100 block of Holmecrest Avenue. Hill said she had been drinking vodka. She failed two field sobriety tests and then began to cry, and did not follow further commands. Hill had a blood alcohol content of 0.206 percent, and her blood tested positive for the presence amphetamines, police said.
