Like Capt. McCluskey says, 'You gotta go, you gotta go.'

 

DUI … Stephanie Godio, 21, of London Road, Philadelphia, was arrested April 29 at 4 a.m. following a traffic stop for swerving and for almost hitting the median near the corner of Old York and Keith roads, police said. According to police, Godio smelled of alcohol; she said she was coming from Penguin’s Pub. She failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.135 percent.

DUI and careless driving … Michael James Thompson, 24, of Old York Road, Elkins Park, was arrested April 28 at 2:08 a.m. following a report for a reckless driver. Police spotted a red Dodge Caravan driving eastbound on Moreland Road with two flat tires; the vehicle was stopped in the corner of Old York Road and Maplewood Avenue.

According to police, Thompson had bloodshot and glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol. He said he had two India pale ales over an hour ago and said that he knew that he was driving on two flat tires; he said he had been driving on them for about eight or nine miles. Thompson failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.174 percent.

Possession of a controlled substance … Christopher C. Johnson, 23, of Henrietta Avenue, Huntingdon Valley, was arrested April 19 at 12:24 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Davisville Road and Maplewood Avenue for driving on a completely flat tire, police said. According to police, there was a can of air freshener between the driver’s seat and the center console and there were several “Black Ice” air fresheners hanging from the rearview mirror. Following a search, police found several burnt roaches in the ashtray as well as one bag of confirmed marijuana in Johnson’s jeans pocket.

Possession of a controlled substance … Dylan Ezekiel Ready, 30, of Loller Road, Hatboro, was arrested April 14 at 10:05 p.m. following a traffic stop for a malfunctioning brake light and for having expired registration near the corner of Fitzwatertown Road and Grisdale Avenue, police said. According to police, Ready was nervous and avoiding eye contact during the ordeal. He was wearing a T-shirt with an open pocket; inside the pocket were five plastic bags containing white wax paper stamped “Bugatti.” The substance was confirmed as heroin.

DUI … Hugh Canavan, 53, of Easton Road, Glenside, was arrested April 13 at 9:29 p.m. following a traffic stop for having a malfunctioning tail light in the corner of Limekiln Pike and Brooke Road, police said. According to police, Canavan smelled strongly of alcohol, failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.156 percent.

DUI … Terence Shawn Wilson Jr., 23, of Prospect Avenue, Willow Grove, was arrested April 10 at 1:04 a.m. after he blew a stop sign at the corner of Edge Hill and Bradfield roads, police said. According to police, Wilson smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and glassy and bloodshot eyes. His vehicle also smelled of burnt marijuana. Wilson failed two field sobriety tests, had a blood alcohol content of 0.057 percent and his blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana.

Possession of a controlled substance … Alonzo Love Middleton, 18, of Woodland Road, Willow Grove; and Carmen Gaetano Reale, 19, of Edge Hill Road, Glenside, were arrested April 7 at 9:15 p.m. after Middleton, a passenger, was seen opening the passenger side door and emptying the guts of a cigar onto the ground at the Lukoil gas station in the 1000 block of Easton Road, police said. According to police, there was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and there was a partially burnt roach in the ashtray; Middleton had a cigar on his lap.

According to police Reale, who was in the driver’s seat, produced a plastic jar containing confirmed marijuana. Middleton and Reale both admitted to owning it.

DUI and disorderly conduct … Edward Hoffman, 52, of Hellerman Street, Philadelphia, was arrested April 2 at 8:02 p.m. near the 900 block of Huntingdon Pike following a traffic stop for driving with his headlights off and for sitting at an intersection for a long time, police said. According to police, Hoffman’s motor skills were very slow and he had glassy and bloodshot eyes. Hoffman failed three field sobriety tests and said that he had two glasses of wine earlier in the day.

Hoffman was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital, where he asked to use the bathroom. When staff told him that he would have to wait, he urinated in the emergency room lobby. According to police, Hoffman had a blood alcohol content of 0.71 percent and his blood tested positive for the presence of lorazepam and oxycodone.

Hoffman said he had no problem controlling his bladder.

Possession of a small amount of marijuana … Alexander Ferrante, 24, of Maple Street, Jenkintown, was arrested Feb. 15 at 9:50 p.m. following a traffic stop for having a malfunctioning brake light near the corner of Keswick and East avenues, police said. According to police, Ferrante’s vehicle smelled of marijuana and there were loose pieces of marijuana scattered in and around the center console. There was also a bottle of eye drops and a can of air freshener in the vehicle.

According to police, Ferrante said, “I got a little weed and a bowl in the center console,” and when police asked if they could search the vehicle, Ferrante said, “Yeah, go ahead.” Police found three bags of confirmed marijuana in the console of the vehicle along with the aforementioned glass bowl.
