Abington School Board Adds New Director
School Director Adrienne Fletcher was the top vote getter in the November general election. She was sworn in on Monday.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A new member has joined the Abington School Board.
At Monday's reorganization meeting, the Abington School Board welcomed Adrienne Fletcher as its newest member, while three incumbent school directors — Brian Allen, Angelique Frazier, and Yaasiyn Muhammad — took oaths of office to serve four-year terms.
The Democrats won all four seats in the November general election, holding off a challenge from three Republican candidates.

Abington school board candidates debated the impact that a new middle school would have. In the May primary election, voters approved building a new $285 million middle school by a narrow 500-vote margin among 17,000 residents who went to the polls.
Fletcher was the top vote getter in the election, followed by Frazier, Muhammad, and Allen.

They defeated Republican challengers Joseph J. Rooney, Joseph O'Brien, and Roy Bant Jr.
