Abington school district is planning to build a new middle school which will increase the average school tax bill by $54 annually. This on top of ever increasing contract cost, and service fees township wide. This on top of increasing cost of home ownership, mortgage rates, grocery, auto, insurance rates, utilities, you name it and it is increasing. Do we really need this new building? Is it a luxury that is ill timed? And you can bet your house that the $2.5 million, approx. cost, will not be what the final number will be. The estimates are never correct and they never come in under budget when they undertake these projects. Then add to the $2.5 million plus the interest on the debt.
Do the right thing and vote no on election. No to unnecessary increase to our taxes.
