Classic Thanksgiving Movie Playing At Hiway Theater Wednesday

"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" was a classic 1980s movie featuring Steve Martin and the late John Candy.

JENKINTOWN, PA —The Hiway Theater likes to showcase movies for the holiday season.

Whether it is horror flicks around Halloween or Christmas favorites. But the borough movie theater isn't forgetting the holiday in between: Thanksgiving.

On Wednesday night, the Thanksgiving classic "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" will hit the big screen once again just as it did in the 1980s.

Steve Martin and the late John Candy delight in this classic road trip comedy about an uptight workaholic who is trying to get home to his family for Thanksgiving, but is trapped with a boorish shower curtain-ring salesman as his travel companion.

The theater said on its website that the movie is widely considered to be the greatest Thanksgiving movie.

The movie begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the theater at 212 Old York Rd.
