Fourth Of July Festivities Planned For Jenkintown, Rockledge
Jenkintown and Rockledge boroughs have plans to celebrate the holiday on Friday. Find out what they are below.
JENKINTOWN / ROCKLEDGE BOROUGH, PA — Jenkintown and Rockledge boroughs are ready to get the Fourth of July festivities underway.
The Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department is once again sponsoring the borough's annual Fourth of July celebration with a parade starting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. (The rain date is 9:30 a.m. Saturday).
The parade will feature fire trucks, a Color Guard, bands, and decorated bikes of children.

In addition, various community service groups, including the Boy/Girl Scouts and J.Y.A., will also be in attendance.
Children riding bikes on the parade route who are under age 12 must wear a bike helmet.

After the parade, prizes will be awarded in the Town Square for the Best Decorated Bikes. This year’s awards will be divided into three categories: Strollers & Wagons, Tricycles, and Bikes.
There will also be games for all ages, including the “Peanut Scramble,” “Egg Toss,” and various other games.
The parade starts on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue. It will proceed North on Leedom Street to Hillside Avenue, West on Hillside Avenue to Walnut Street, South on Walnut Street to West Avenue, and commence at the Town Square on Leedom Street.
Hot dogs and cold beverages will be served by the Pioneer Fire Company at the end of the parade.
