Fourth Of July Road Closures For Parades In Abington Twp.
Rockledge has a parade and there is a parade and fireworks in Glenside on Thursday.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —With Fourth of July festivities planned for Thursday, police departments in Abington Township have announced several road closures.

The Greater Glenside Independence Day Parade and Fireworks will be held on Thursday.
The Abington Township Police Department said that as in past years, there will be parking restrictions in the parade staging area and along the route. There will also be parking restrictions in the area around Abington High School where the fireworks are viewed.

Those areas will be posted with “NO PARKING” as a reminder to all residents on July 3.
Police ask that anyone who will be away during the event should not park on the street.

The road closures are as follows:

Rockledge Borough
On behalf of Mayor Jim Caffrey and the Rockledge Police Department, the 4th of July Parade will be held starting at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The 4th of July Committee will host the July 4th Fun Festival at Cegielkowski Playground at 27 S. Sylvania Ave. At 1:00 p.m., there will be games, giveaways, and other fun activities.
Police Chief John Gallagher said the following streets will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday:
- Fox Chase Rd. between Huntingdon Pk. and Shady Ln.
- Huntingdon Pk. between Shady Ln. and Church Rd.
- Church Rd. between Borbeck St. and Huntingdon Pk.
- Loney St. between Fillmore St. and Church Rd.
- Unit block of N. Jarrett Ave.
- Unit block of S. Jarrett Ave.
- Unit block of N. Sylvania Ave.
- Unit block of S. Sylvania Ave.
- Unit block of Park Ave.
- Unit block of N. Central Ave.
- Unit block of S. Central Ave.
- Unit block of Elm Ave.
- Unit block of N. Penn Ave.
- Unit block of S. Penn Ave.
Huntingdon Pike vehicular traffic east will detour east on Shady Ln. to eastbound Montgomery Ave. to southbound Robbins Avenue back onto eastbound Huntingdon Pike.
Huntingdon Pike vehicular traffic west will detour north on Blake Avenue to westbound Montgomery Avenue to westbound Shady Lane back onto westbound Huntingdon Pike.
