Jenkintown School District Wraps Up 150th Anniversary
Jenkintown Schools Superintendent Jill Takacs reflected on school achievements over the past year in honor of the borough's 150 celebration.
JENKINTOWN, PA — School is out for summer, thus ending the 150th anniversary celebrations that took place during the year.
"This year we honored our 150th Anniversary, a milestone that gave us an opportunity to reflect on the unique strengths and culture of our school district and community," Schools Superintendent Jill Takacs. "It was a year to remember that Jenkintown is a special place."
She said that students, parents, staff, alumni, and neighbors joined in celebrating and honoring the borough's history throughout the year.

"As a small, closely-knit community, our school pride and connection is evident in longtime traditions like Color Day," the superintendent said. "Our students are afforded a plethora of opportunities to immerse themselves in our school culture."
Takacs said the Jenkintown School District is a place where students excel academically, and thrive in multiple extra-curriculars.

"Our talented and dedicated staff members care deeply for our students and develop strong relationships with them to last a lifetime," the superintendent said. "Our graduates continue to make us proud, achieving at high levels and going on to impressive post-graduate endeavors. We will always look back and honor the past, but we are also excited for the future as we continue to grow and evolve. Happy 150, Jenkintown."
