Keswick Avenue Rail Bridge To Be Replaced
SEPTA has two bridge projects planned in Abington and Cheltenham townships starting in March and running into the Memorial Day weekend.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Two SEPTA bridges will be repaired and replaced as the transportation agency seeks to make rail improvements this spring and summer.
SEPTA said that the bridges over Easton Road and Keswick Avenue in Abington and Cheltenham townships are slated for structure work by a contractor between March and the Memorial Day weekend.
Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the road closures and detours, SEPTA said.

SEPTA Bridge Over Easton Road:
Rehabilitation efforts include structural repairs, including concrete repairs to the abutment walls, center pier support, and bridge superstructure as well as waterproofing of the bridge superstructure.
In addition, crews will perform partial platform replacement and repairs at Glenside RR Station.

Road Closures For Easton Road Bridge Work:
Easton Road between Mount Carmel Avenue and Glenside Avenue to be closed in early-to-mid-March 2025 for about six weeks.
The road is expected to reopen before the Downtown Glenside Arts Festival on May 3.
SEPTA Bridge Over Keswick Avenue:
In addition to concrete repairs to the abutment walls, the bulk of the work will be a rapid bridge superstructure replacement, SEPTA said.
Work will take place during a 78-hour shutdown of Regional Rail service on Memorial Day weekend.
The existing Keswick Avenue Bridge will be carried off-site to a nearby staging/prep area where it will be broken down. The new bridge will be brought to staging area where it will be assembled.
The assembled bridge will be transported to project site and lifted into place.
Road Closures For Keswick Avenue Bridge Work:
Keswick Avenue between Mount Carmel Avenue and Paxson Avenue will be closed from about May 19 to May 30.
Drivers and residents should also expect partial closures of Mount Carmel Avenue between Rices Mill Road and Keswick Avenue during the Memorial Day weekend of May 24-26.
