Leza Raffel Appointed to Montco Gateway Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

The Montco Gateway Chamber of Commerce (formerly known as Eastern Montgomery County Chamber) is pleased to announce the appointment of Leza Raffel, President and founder of The Communication Solutions Group, Inc., to its Board of Directors. Her full-service public relations and marketing company, founded in 1991, is based in Jenkintown, PA.

Raffel has been an active and dedicated member of the Chamber for 32 years, currently serving on the Marketing Advisory Council and having previously presented at Chamber meetings on marketing, public relations and social media management. Most recently, she facilitated a visioning session for board leadership and conducted member surveys which were instrumental in fine-tuning the Montco Gateway’s communication strategy and rebrand rationale which were unveiled in October.

Raffel’s company received the “Soaring 76 Award” in 2023 and the “Philly 100 Award” from the Philadelphia Business Journal twice because of its rapid growth. Former Governor Ed Rendell awarded her the “Best 50 Women in Business” Award in 2009.

Under Raffel’s mentorship, over 115 college students have interned at Communication Solutions. This milestone earned her the 2023 “Commitment to Education Award” from the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. This same organization has bestowed Communication Solutions with three Pepperpot Awards for PR campaigns created under Raffel’s tutelage.

In addition to her new Board post with the Montco Gateway Chamber of Commerce, Raffel has also held past board appointments with Ithaca College Hillel, Philly Friendship Circle and Temple Sholom. She serves on the Penn State Abington Business Advisory Board.

Committed to educating the next generation of communication experts, Raffel serves as Professional in Residence at Ithaca College’s School of Communication, where she has also endowed a leadership scholarship. She conducts media training annually at UCLA and at professional association conferences nationwide.

Raffel is a graduate of Ithaca College, where she earned a B.S. in communications. She is a resident of Abington, PA.
