Man Convicted In Armed Abington Bank Robbery
Federal authorities said the Philadelphia man and his accomplice held up an Abington credit union at gunpoint in January 2024.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Philadelphia man has been convicted for his involvement in the gunpoint robbery of a township credit union in January 2024, federal authorities said.
Charles Thomas Clark, 30, of Philadelphia, was convicted of aiding and abetting an armed bank robbery in the township, and aiding and abetting using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.
Clark was charged with those offenses in April 2024 after a gunpoint robbery of a credit union.

Authorities said that clark and Emmanuel Glass entered the American Heritage Credit Union branch on the 1300 block of Old York Road at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2024.
They demanded money at gunpoint from credit union employees, putting the cash in a paper McDonald’s bag. They also took deposited checks, authorities said.

Authorities said that employees heard Clark say, “It’s not worth it, this is all insured”; “…it’s not worth your life,” in reference to pushing alarm buttons, and warning employees not to move or they would get shot.
After leaving the credit union, the robbers fled in a gold 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The bank manager then called 911 to report the robbery, authorities said.
Police spotted the Chevrolet Cruze a few miles away from the credit union and followed it.
Clark, who was driving, struck multiple vehicles as he fled from police at a high rate of speed, then crashed into a marked Abington Police vehicle. Both robbers took off on foot and were caught.
Clark is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 5, 2026. Glass, who pleaded guilty in July, was sentenced on Nov. 5.
Authorities said the announcement was delayed due to the federal government shutdown.
