Montco Mom Donates Breast Milk Amidst Nationwide Formula Shortage

GLENSIDE, PA — A local mother has taken action to help out with the nationwide baby formula shortage, pumping extra breast milk while feeding her young daughter and offering it up to mothers in need.
Kelly Dittman, of Glenside, Pa., mother to 13-month-old daughter, Fiona, decided to donate the breast milk amidst a formula shortage that has gripped the country.
Dittman posted to a local community Facebook group last week to make new parents aware that she has extra pumped breastmilk that is stored in her freezer and would be available to those who are struggling.

She noted that she is on a vegetarian diet with some dairy and taking prenatal vitamins and other vitamins.
"Just wanting to help out if possible," she posted to the Glenside & Wyncote PA Community public Facebook group May 13.

Local media picked up on Dittman's generous offer. She was featured a 6 ABC spot recently about her efforts.
