New Transportation Supervisor Named For Cheltenham Schools
The Cheltenham School Board has appointed an employee who has worked for the district for 25 years.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cheltenham School District has named a 25-year employee as its supervisor of transportation.
Dawn Woods, who has worked for the Cheltenham School District for 25 years, will be appointed at the school board's Legislative Board Meeting on Tuesday night.
In her new role, Woods will supervise, administer, and implement the district’s contract with Cheltenham Trans, the district’s transportation provider, as well as other transportation services through the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

She will manage operations and activities of the transportation department, and its 72 buses and 12 vans, for public and non-public schools, officials said.
That includes bus routes, schedule route changes, transportation needs for special education students, for the purpose of ensuring student transportation to and from school, athletic and club events, and field trips.

“I'm excited and deeply committed to ensuring our students have a safe, reliable, and efficient transportation experience every day,” Woods said. “My goal is to improve the systems and processes in place continuously, making sure every ride is punctual and every child feels secure.”
Woods began her journey at CSD as a paraeducator before transitioning to the administrative assistant to the director of support services, a role she's held since 2009.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Springfield College of Human Services.
“With over 15 years of experience working in the facilities department, I understand the importance of collaboration, safety, and attention to detail,” Woods said. “ I look forward to working closely with our team, school officials, and families to create a seamless experience for everyone involved.”
