Online Survey Created For Abington Middle School Project

The Abington School District seeks community input on the new middle school project. Residents can take an online survey for a few weeks.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington School District is seeking community input on its middle school project and has introduced an online survey to gather information.

Following the approval of a referendum in May 2025 from voters in Abington Township and the Borough of Rockledge, the project to build a new Abington Middle School is well underway, with the school district currently in the process of planning and design, officials said.

The school district announced Friday has announced an online survey in ongoing efforts to engage the community throughout the entire middle school building project.

“From the beginning, Abington School District’s Board of School Directors and leadership team have been committed to making this a community-involved initiative, and this survey is the next step in engaging our stakeholders to ensure that the new Abington Middle School reflects the needs and priorities of our students, staff, and community,” Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Fecher said.

Additional information about the project and ongoing updates are available on the dedicated website, OneASDOneFuture.org.

Residents approved plans for a new $285 million middle school by a little more than 550 votes.

With nearly 17,000 votes cast in Abington Township and Rockledge Borough, the new middle school was approved in a special referendum during the May primary election. The project received 8,676 yes votes to 8,129 no votes.

School officials said that the first phase of the project is beginning to take shape.

Besides community input, the school district will finalize funding and bond sales in the coming months.
