ABINGTON, PA — Local police say that a bag containing cellphones whose value totaled $25,000 was stolen from a vehicle parked outside of the Willow Grove Park Mall late last month.

According to the Abington Township Police Department, an Atlas Mobile employee had traveled from the King of Prussia Apple Store to the one at the Willow Grove Park Mall to pick up smartphones back on March 23, and that he left the bag of phones in his vehicle while he ate inside the mall.

The employee had placed the bag inside his vehicle and then went back inside the mall for a bite to eat.

At some point while the phones were inside the employee's vehicle, someone smashed out the window to the vehicle and stolen the cellphones, police said.

Police said that a review of video surveillance showed that three people who had arrived at the Willow Grove Park Mall prior to the Atlas Mobile employee were waiting at the location and surveilling the store until the time when the victim left.

The victim was then followed outside to the parking lot as he placed the cellphones into his vehicle and then went back inside the mall.
