Pothole Repairs Continue On Eastern Montco Highways

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA —PennDOT will continue patching potholes this week in some communities in eastern Montgomery County.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that PennDOT maintenance crews will be working on more than 60 state highways next week to repair deteriorated pavement in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The Philadelphia region experiences a high volume of potholes each season due to temperatures fluctuating between freezing and mild, known as a rapid freeze-thaw cycle.

PennDOT would like to remind motorists that potholes can be reported to PennDOT’s Customer Care Center by visiting www.customercare.penndot.pa.gov.

To date, since Jan. 1, District 6 has received over 2,100 customer concerns regarding potholes.

Drivers are advised of travel restrictions and possible slowdowns this week when driving near work crews patching potholes.

These are the locations:

• Route 152 (Limekiln Pike), Cheltenham Township.
• Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike), Abington Township.
• Susquehanna Road, Abington and Upper Dublin townships.

Drivers are reminded to slow down in the work zone and refrain from distracted driving to keep themselves and our workers safe.

Crews will be patching potholes until all areas are addressed. All activities are weather dependent.
